Hello my Lovelies!!
Gerard Cosmetics ... A very well-known brand. Its no doubt an elite brand but is it worth it ? If you aren't familiar with this brand or have heard about it but you aren't sure that you should give it a go or not? Then keep on reading to find out whether its worth buying or not .....
Gerard Cosmetics is a USA based brand; it mainly sell lipsticks,lip glosses and brow products. Recently they launched highlighters which are totally new to their line of products. Gerard Cosmetics as i said earlier is an elite brand so it charges accordingly. I must say it gives you quality for what it actually charges you. They don't have much in their product line but whatever they do is worth raving about. As been said lets get into the further details about the product:
PRICE- $19 each/- . I don't know how much they cost individually in Pakistani Rupees as i bought 4 lipsticks in a bundle on a discounted price with a code for that discount. Plus when i bought them they costed me around $39 for set of 4 lipsticks. If you don't have the code so yes it will cost you around $76 which is huge !! So i'll suggest checking out for sales,codes and free shipping.
AVAILABILITY- These aren't available locally that is you need to order them online either through the website on your own or an online Facebook page.
SHADES- These comes in 15 shades. The range is not only decent but has perfect shade for anyone out there. The best part about buying them in a bundle is that you can customise it according to your own will instead of those standardised typical sets. I have the most demanded shades from their line:
1)Berry Smoothie- Its a berry pink shade with minute hint of purple. Its not 100% matte. It will compliment many different skin tones no doubt.
2)Buttercup- Its a soft baby pink nude. Its not for everyone and can wash out some of you. Its a gorgeous nude for fair/light skin tones. Its their collaboration with Jaclyn Hill.
3)1995- Its known as a signature lip colour for Kylie Jenner's lipstick colour. One thing i had noticed about it is that its not going to be that typical 1990's jazz on everyone's lips mainly due to the reason being different undertones,skin tones and pigmentation of the lips. It would definitely be that statement colour for lighter skin tones; it tends to appear as a brownish nude shade for medium to deeper skin tones. Its again their collaboration with Jaclyn Hill. It will suit many different skin tones despite not being that signature colour.
4)Rodeo Drive- Its a soft pinkish shade. It looks quiet similar to Berry Smoothie but its one to two shades lighter than it. Its more pink with no hints of purple in it. It will go with almost any skin tone.
PACKAGING- Its a packaging to droll over !! Its has a bullet shaped golden casing. Its not matte but all shinny and glossy. Its no doubt very beautiful. If you're a gold packaging lover so you'll no doubt fall in love with it.
TEXTURE- Its semi-matte. They're not drying but not hydrating either so i'll suggest you use a lip balm underneath for smoother application. They're not hard to apply but just to have better looking lips if you have any dry patches and fine lines on your lips; so in order to stop them from clinging to fine lines on lips i'll definitely recommend a lip balm underneath.
DURABILITY- It does not claim to be long lasting or to stay for any specific duration. It stays on for 5-6 hours without eating or drinking which is pretty normal for lipsticks as in nothing extraordinary though.
PIGMENTATION- They're definitely not sheer. The deeper shades are opaque but i find buttercup a little more towards sheer side than others.
FINAL VERDICT- This brand definitely has some amazing shades to try. I'll definitely suggest everyone to try one or two lip shades from this brand. If you ask me is it worth the price ? Well i would say that many drugstore brands can cater to your needs at much lesser price tag than these if you're on a budget or prefer pocket friendly deals( as this won't be your cup of tea then). If you're a professional so you should give it a go and enjoy variety of formulation but if you're a beginner i'll not recommend it to you as its expensive and you can skip it as you're learning and getting to know what suits you and what washes your face off. They have good formulation and pigmentation. I only find buttercup little sheer as compared to others. The best thing about these darker lip shades is that it tends to compliment a wide range of skin tones.
