REVIEW & SWATCHES - "BOURJOIS 123 PERFECT FOUNDATION"

Hello my Lovelies!!!

BOURJOIS 123 PERFECT FOUNDATION

Well this post was requested so much that i just had to do it now. Yes its my first foundation review on my blog, to be very honest i wasn't sure that i should do a post on this or not only because i wanted to put up on blog something that is not only tried and tested but is very authentic and studied well. I have used a couple of foundations in past two years and i faced many difficulties in picking up the right foundation that not only suited my skin but actually wasn't very fake on skin. So i can understand why picking up the right foundation is the hardest thing around.
To be really honest i even try and test products everyday and finding the perfect thing isn't just hard but takes time. I am no doubt still learning and this process never ends. Before really getting into the review i'll try giving you some guidelines on picking up the right shade and how to use the foundation properly.
Sometimes everything is right but our technique is wrong which makes us believe that the foundation or any other product was not good whereas the actual reason was the technique.
So lets get started with it.........

GUIDELINES:
- Identify your undertone.
- Identify your skin type.
- Once first two things are done then look for a foundation that suits your skin type. There are plenty of brands out there which will have written in their description which skin type it is for.

NORMAL TO OILY SKIN- Go for the ones which says oil free on them.
NORMAL TO DRY SKIN- Go for the ones which dont say oil free on them as your skin needs hydration.

- Picking up the right shade might take some trial and errors as sometimes we are guided wrong or the concept of the right is wrong amongst us. When picking up the right shade match the foundation swatch on your neck or jawline not with your face. As face tends to be darker than our neck due to high sun exposure.

- Always use foundation on clean skin.
- Always use a primer underneath your foundation. It will not only make it last longer but will be a barrier between your skin and foundation. It will also help in not clogging your pores.

Now lets get started with the review :

CLAIMS-

It claims to have 3 correcting pigments:
1. Yellow pigments- for Anti-dark circles
2. Mauve pigments- for Anti-dull complexion
3. Green pigments- for Anti-redness

  • Lasting power upto 16hrs and has SPF 10.
  • It has 24hrs hydration and anti-shine.
  • Medium coverage, yet lets skin breath.
  • Soft and smooth formula.

PACKAGING- It comes in a glass bottle with a pump. I must say that i am very impressed by the packaging. I have dropped mine several times but not even a single scratch. I personally think it has a quiet sturdy packaging.

SHADES- Sadly it comes in only 5 shades. Shades range start from 51 and ends on 56. I use 52 Vanilla, though initially i bought 53 Light Beige which was slightly darker for me. (TIP: If you get a slightly darker shade just make sure to blend it all the way down till your neck properly to hide the noticeable difference in the skin tone)
Personally i think as it has a very limited shade range so you'll tend to find it mainly for fair to medium skin tones. Its not for darker/deeper skin tones at all.

PRICE- 10.99 pounds or RS 2500/-

APPLICATION- Either use a damp beauty blender or a brush, don't use your fingers as its not that easy to blend. Be fast with it as it sets quickly.

DIRECTION- Take out the foundation on the back of your hand or on a foundation platter.

FINISH- This foundation gives a matte finish. Matte finish is when a foundation dries to powder finish; powder finish means that you dont need to use powder over your foundation. Its best for normal to oily skin. It won't melt or wear off that easily. It stays on for very long time and does not transfer at all. It does give medium to full coverage without looking cakey.  Use a primer underneath for better finish and increasing its lasting power. It does hide your blemishes, scars, hyper pigmentation, dark circles and acne scars too. You can skip concealer if you dont have much to conceal as it tends to conceal on its own.

AVAILABILITY- Its available locally at naheed super store here in karachi. While you can also order it online. I got mine from naheed.

PROS

- Available locally
- Good coverage
- Control the oil on skin for long
- Higher lasting power
- Gives matte finish
- Do not oxidise
- Does not transfer
- Corrects and conceals effectively
- Best for normal to oily skin
- Has SPF in it

CONS

- Limited shades available
- Expensive
- Not suitable for dry skin
